doomed and cool

There are some songs or poems that make me ache because I feel a sort of nostalgia as I listen to/read them, even though they are not my experiences at all. Does anyone else ever feel that way?

"Poetry should surprise by a fine excess and not by singularity, it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance." -John Keats

A quote I came across once upon a time and cried of joy at its accuracy to my inward feelings I was never able to pinpoint or put into words. Why is it that the brilliant people I relate to the most, are dead?
