thrift sales

I still refuse to realize how soon classes will be starting. I'm still in that pleasant place of carefreeness and enjoying the peace and contentment of everyday; taking photos of the wildflowers that grow alongside the driveway, and laying in the sun until my swim-wet hair dries.

This past week I've done a lot of shopping (yard sales and thrift stores, of course), and I'm excited with my purchases so much that I'd like to share them..

Saturday morning yard sales

Crappy (Time?) film camera.. but it was a dollar, so okay.

Okay, I LOVE this painting. I saw it at the same yard sale before, but I've been going there almost every weekend and couldn't find it. Buut, this weekend it was on a table hiding behind a box of curtains! I can't find an artist's name on it, though. Hmm. And don't worry, I plan on changing the frame. Oh, and the random slab of wood on the right was like fifty cents, so I'm going to paint a little something on it, I guess.

I also bought a DVD of The Devil Wears Prada (it's entertaining, even after the 18th time) and the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, which I finished reading in two days.

Then, on Monday..
Guy's Frenchy's in Oromocto

Not exactly sure how to describe this.. it has one strap that goes across my body. I love it!

This is just an exercise top I guess. But I wore it with high waisted shorts. That's probably why it looks wrinkly and grimy in the picture.. oops.

A confusing combination of poncho and knit sweater.

Just your plain grey tshirt. Stretchy and comfy, matches anything.

Also from Frenchy's I bought the novel Native Tongue by Carl Hiaasen, and the book Plainsong by Kent Haruf which I LOVE. I actually already owned the book, but the one at the store was in better condition, so.... hey, if it's one of your favourites.

And, today..
Value Village

The comfiest sweater, even if it was in the men's section. It looks so much better when it's on.

I love this print so much. This kind of shirt is the reason I go to thrift stores in the first place.

A super long knit cardigan, with a tie strap/belt thing.

And, I bought three tape cassettes: Garbage, The Moody Blues, and Aerosmith
and two records: The Moody Blues, and Prism.

Hail the person who came up with the idea of thrift stores. Or yard sales. Imagine starting that.

Hope everyone's had an eventful (or peaceful) August!
