I thought I would share some of the jewelry I got for Christmas because I love it all! I'll admit, I picked out most of it while out shopping for my family.. but Mom wrapped them up anyway.
The bracelet on the right (first photo) is actually a recycled clothes hanger! That's pretty neat. My aunt found it at a place called Recycling Bin.. I haven't even heard of it!
The necklace and earrings with the turquoise beads were from my younger brother, who doesn't talk much, but I guess he quietly absorbs everything I say haha.. the turquoise and the skull were right on.
The rings and some of the earrings were ones I picked out, and from a store you wouldn't guess.. Value Village! I realize a lot of people wouldn't rush there first to buy gifts, but I don't see anything wrong with re-gifting. I mean, if you find something you know so-and-so would love (and it's in good condition), then why the hell not?
Oh, and while I'm talking about recycling here, let me just say that wrapping paper is NOT recyclable. How saddening is that, thinking of the mounds of it people go through around Christmas time. I realize it's always satisfying to see a gift wrapped in a sparkly reindeer pattern, but old flyers and newspaper are recyclable after all.. personally, I wouldn't mind if some old man's face from the front page of the paper was wrapped onto my gift; it's what's inside I'm anxious to tear through to.
Hopefully, when Christmas times rolls around next year, these points might be useful to someone other than myself.
